Lahti Historic Rally, the Finnish round of the FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship scheduled to take place in August has been cancelled due to the global COVID-19 situation and the resulting traveling restrictions that would have made it difficult if not impossible for the international competitors to arrive in Finland. So far most of the events in the FIA EHS Rally Championship of 2020 have either been cancelled or postponed, with only the rallies in Italy and Switzerland later in the autumn maintaining their dates. At the original date, the Lahti event would have been the season opener and August fast approaching, competitors would have had to start making travel preparations already.
The organising committee felt the only responsible decision was to cancel the event for the benefit of all parties. The organisers are now looking already to 2021 for hosting a yet another exquisite historic rally on the beautiful roads of the Lahti region
